The ship berths at Swettenham Pier, a five-minute walk from Fort Cornwallis. Street art on Armenian Street, the Chew Jetty stilt village, Khoo Kongsi clan house, and lunch at a hawker centre. Kek Lok Si temple or the Penang Hill funicular if you want to go further. Back on board before the all-aboard time.

Do we need a Malaysian visa for the Penang stop?
It depends on your nationality. Malaysia has its own entry rules and they apply even for a day ashore. We check what applies to your passport before you book and tell you in writing.
Can we do Penang on our own instead of a tour?
Yes, and we usually recommend it. The pier is a five-minute walk from the old town, so a guided tour is optional. We send you a walking route and a food list. If you would rather have a car and guide, we arrange that too.
How much cash should we carry in Penang?
Malaysian ringgit, in small notes. Hawker stalls and trishaws do not take cards, and the terminal ATMs run out on busy call days.
