Star Voyager Deck Plan: Every Deck, Venue and Cabin Explained

Star Voyager has 15 decks. Guest decks run from Deck 4 to Deck 15, and there is no Deck 13. Cabins sit on Decks 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12. Everything else — restaurants, theatre, pools, spa, casino — is spread across Decks 4 to 15, and knowing which end of the ship each one sits at matters more than the deck number itself.

This guide is built from the official StarCruises Star Voyager ship brochure and cruise guide for Singapore sailings, both issued in late 2026, cross-checked against the ship's own records. We have also listed the places where the two official documents disagree with each other, and what we corrected on this page.

Star Voyager at a glance

That history explains a lot about how the ship reads. She was built for Princess Cruises as Dawn Princess, spent eight years with P&O Cruises Australia as Pacific Explorer, and was bought by StarCruises in March 2025 — briefly carrying the name Star Scorpio before becoming Star Voyager. Her first Singapore homeport season began on 26 March 2025.

Practically, that means a classic Princess-era layout — a proper central atrium, wraparound promenade heritage, long cabin corridors — wearing new Asian branding. It is a smaller, more intimate ship than Genting Dream, and you will walk less to get anywhere.

Why there is no Deck 13

Star Voyager's deck numbering runs 12, then 14. There is no Deck 13 anywhere on the ship, and that is deliberate — thirteen is considered unlucky in several of the markets StarCruises sells to, so the number is simply skipped. It is the same reasoning behind Genting Dream having no Deck 14, where the number four is the one avoided.

If you have seen a deck plan listing Deck 13 as "not detailed", that is a misreading. The deck is not missing from the brochure — it does not exist.

Deck by deck, and what it actually means for you

Deck 15 — the top, and the loudest

Sky Bar sits forward with the best forward-facing views on the ship. Aft is the whole water complex: Aqua Park, the water slides and the Kids Water Park. This deck is where families spend their days at sea and it is genuinely noisy from mid-morning to late afternoon.

Deck 14 — food, pool and the Palace Restaurant

Forward you get The Lido (the main buffet, and an inclusive restaurant), Blue Lagoon, and the Palace Restaurant, which is reserved for Palace suite guests. Aft is the Oasis Bar. In the middle sit the pool, hot tubs and part of the Adventure Park.

The Lido is the single busiest room on the ship between 7 and 9 am. If you want a calm breakfast, The North Star Dining Room on Deck 5 is the better call.

Deck 12 — the one that does the most work

Deck 12 carries more than any other deck. Aft is the entire wellness block — Symphony Fitness, Symphony Salon, Symphony Spa & Wellness and Symphony Studio — plus both kids and teen clubs, Little Dreamers Club and The Vibe Check, and the Gelateria. Midship is the main pool, hot tubs and the Pool Bar. The VIP Casino is also on this deck, as is the rest of the Adventure Park with the rock wall, Walk the Plank and the zipline.

Deck 12 also has cabins: the Palace Deluxe Suites and some Palace Balcony rooms. Excellent for access, worth thinking about for noise — see the section on cabins to avoid below.

Deck 11 — the quiet balcony deck

Almost entirely staterooms, with Lawn Bowls aft and a self-service laundromat. This is the highest deck that is mostly cabins, and it holds the Balcony Deluxe Staterooms, which exist on Deck 11 only. For a balcony cabin with easy access up to the pool deck and nothing noisy directly overhead in the midship section, this is the best deck on the ship.

Decks 10 and 9 — the heart of the accommodation

Two full cabin decks covering the widest spread of categories: Palace Penthouse, Palace Suite (Deck 10 only), Balcony, Oceanview and Interior. Both have self-service laundromats. Nothing public sits on these decks, which is exactly why they are quiet. Midship on Deck 9 or 10 is the classic "least motion, least noise" choice on any ship of this design.

Deck 8 — mixed use, and worth reading carefully

Deck 8 has cabins (Palace Penthouse, Oceanview and Interior) and public venues: the Red Tail Café midship and The Playbook eGaming. If you are booking an Interior or Oceanview room on Deck 8, ask where it sits relative to the eGaming venue.

Deck 7 — the entertainment deck

No cabins at all, which is why this deck can be busy until late. Forward is the Zodiac Theatre, the main show venue, along with Ocean Bar and Palm Court. Midship is the Velvet Lounge. Aft is the gaming quarter: the main Casino, The Playbook and The Playbook ePub. Photo Corner and Future Cruise Sales are also here.

The practical consequence: cabins on Deck 8 directly above the theatre and casino are the ones most likely to hear late-night noise.

Deck 6 — restaurants, shopping and cabins

Silk Road and Sophia sit midship, along with part of The Starlight Boutiques and The High Limit Slots. There are Oceanview and Interior cabins forward and aft of the venues.

Deck 5 — the lobby deck

Your arrival deck and the one you will use most for admin. The Main Lobby and Atrium, Reception, Palace Reception and the Shore Excursions desk are all midship, as is The North Star Dining Room (inclusive), the Lobby Café and more of The Starlight Boutiques. Oceanview and Interior cabins run forward and aft.

Reception on Deck 5 MID is also where you settle your bill before disembarkation.

Deck 4 — the medical centre

The Clinic, and that is it for guest areas. Worth knowing it exists and where it is, particularly if you are travelling with elderly parents or young children.

Restaurants and bars by deck

Three restaurants are inclusive — already covered by your fare — and the brochure notes that halal options are available at The Lido on request. Everything else is charged separately.

Stateroom categories: size, occupancy and which decks

This is the part that actually decides your cruise. All figures below come straight from the official ship brochure.

Three things worth pulling out of that table:

• Interior staterooms sleep up to five. That is unusual, and it is the cheapest way to fit a family of five on this ship — but only certain Interior rooms have the pullman plus sofa bed configuration, so it has to be booked specifically.
• Palace Balcony and Balcony Deluxe are the same 16.6 sqm starting size as a standard Balcony. You are paying for The Palace privileges and the deck position, not for floor space.
• Oceanview includes obstructed views. The category covers both, and the deck plan marks them separately. Always confirm which one you are being sold.

Best decks for different travellers

Cabins and decks to avoid, and why

No agent enjoys writing this section, but it is the reason people come to a deck plan page.

• Deck 8 directly above the Zodiac Theatre or Casino. Deck 7 has no cabins, which means late shows and a casino running under your floor. If you are a light sleeper, take a different deck.
• Deck 8 near The Playbook eGaming. Same issue on the same deck, and this one is beside you rather than below you.
• Deck 12 cabins under the Deck 14 pool area. Sun loungers get dragged across the deck from early morning. This applies to Palace Deluxe Suites too — paying more does not buy silence.
• Deck 11 aft, near Lawn Bowls. Fine during the day, but it is an active space right outside.
• Anything directly beside a lift bank or the self-service laundromat on Decks 8 to 11. Constant foot traffic, and the laundromat runs late.
• Obstructed Oceanview rooms sold as plain "Oceanview". The window is partly blocked by a lifeboat or structure. The deck plan distinguishes them; make sure your booking does too.
• Forward cabins on high decks if anyone in your party gets seasick. The bow moves most.

We check the deck plan against the specific cabin number before we hold a room. If you are booking elsewhere, ask for the number and look it up on the plan yourself.

The Palace: the ship within the ship

The Palace is StarCruises' all-suite enclave on Decks 8 to 12, with its own reception on Deck 5 and its own 24-hour restaurant on Deck 14. If you are weighing it up, these are the privileges as the official guide lists them:

• VIP lounge at the terminal, priority check-in with butler assistance, fast-track security, priority luggage handling
• 24-hour butler concierge service
• Standard Wi-Fi package included for the whole cruise
• Premium bath amenities, capsule coffee machine and tea, welcome minibar and fruit plate, pressing service; fresh flowers in the Penthouse
• Exclusive access to the 24-hour Palace Restaurant with complimentary dining, plus complimentary in-suite dining
• Set meal entitlements at designated speciality restaurants, Happy Hour with complimentary selected wines and beers, free-flow juices, Chinese and Japanese teas and coffee at selected venues
• Priority access to live production shows, priority booking for Chef's Table
• 10% off in-house retail items and spa packages
• Exclusive kids programme for ages 2–12

The included Wi-Fi alone is worth SGD 36–60 on a 3 to 5-night sailing, and the retail and spa discount adds up if you plan to use either.

What things cost on board

These come straight from the official Singapore cruise guide, so you can budget properly rather than guess.

Gratuities (SGD per person)

That works out to SGD 27 per person per night for Interior and Oceanview, 33 for Balcony and 40 for Palace. Charges are waived for children under 2. For a family of four in a Balcony room on a 3-night sailing, that is SGD 396 on top of the fare — the line most people forget.

Wi-Fi packages (SGD, full cruise)

Standard is basic speed, Premium is prime speed. Multi-device packages work out cheaper per device than buying separately, and StarCruises discounts Wi-Fi bought before sailing rather than on board.

Beverage packages (SGD per night)

• Treat Package — SGD 15/night, all ages. Coffee, tea, soft drinks and bottled water.
• Deluxe Package — SGD 75/night, adults 18+. House wines, selected beers, fresh and chilled juices, soft drinks and bottled water.
• Elite Package — SGD 100/night, adults 18+. Selected spirits, wines, beers, cocktails, mocktails, juices, soft drinks, still and sparkling water, coffee and tea.

Do the arithmetic before buying. At SGD 75 a night, the Deluxe package only pays for itself if you are drinking five or six glasses a day.

Before you sail: practical notes

• The terminal is HarbourFront, not Marina Bay. Star Voyager sails from Singapore Cruise Centre, 5 HarbourFront Avenue, Singapore 099549 — a different terminal from the one Genting Dream and Disney Adventure use. Do not turn up at the wrong one.
• Online check-in is mandatory and closes 48 hours before departure. Miss it and you will be sorting it out at the counter.
• Passport with at least six months' validity for every guest, plus any applicable visa or pass.
• Bring Singapore dollars and a card. Onboard accounts settle with Visa or Mastercard at Reception, Deck 5 MID, or by autopay.
• Do not pack: e-vaporisers and e-cigarettes (prohibited outright), alcohol, irons, cookers, coffee makers, extension cords, sharp objects, raw food including eggs, dairy, meat and fruit, hoverboards, drones and lasers.
• Pack closed-toe shoes or sneakers if anyone wants the rock wall or zipline — you will be turned away in sandals. Bring something formal for Red Carpet night.
• No food in the terminal waiting area. Finish anything you have brought before security.

What we corrected, and where the official documents disagree

Deck plans get copied between websites and go stale fast. Here is exactly what changed on this page and why:

• Deck count: the ship has 15 decks, not 13. The official brochure states 15.
• Deck 13: previously listed as "not detailed in the brochure". It does not exist — numbering skips 12 to 14.
• "The Bistro" is now Sophia (Deck 6 MID), and it is an inclusive restaurant.
• Mozzarella Ristorante & Pizzeria and ESC Experience Lab do not appear in the current official brochure or cruise guide. We have removed them rather than keep listing venues we cannot verify. The Deck 8 food venue is the Red Tail Café.
• Ocean Bar is on Deck 7 FWD, not Deck 8.
• Gelateria is on Deck 12 AFT, not Deck 14.
• VIP Casino is on Deck 12, not Deck 8.
• Blue Lagoon (Deck 14 FWD) was missing entirely and has been added.
• Shuffleboard: the two official documents disagree. The cruise guide places it on Deck 12 AFT; the brochure's venue index lists Deck 7. We have gone with the cruise guide, which is the more recent document and gives a specific location. Worth confirming on board.
• Stateroom categories: the current brochure legend lists Palace Penthouse, Palace Deluxe Suite, Palace Suite, Palace Balcony, Balcony Deluxe, Balcony, Oceanview (including accessible and obstructed) and Interior. "Palace Villa" and "Palace Deluxe Premium" are not in the current legend, so we have removed the old colour-key table and replaced it with real sizes, occupancy and deck locations.
