Genting Dream Cruise WiFi Charges 2026-27: Packages, Prices & How to Connect

Wi-Fi on Genting Dream is not included in your cruise fare. You buy a full-cruise package in Standard or Premium, for one to four devices, and the price depends on how many nights you sail. Standard Wi-Fi for one device costs SGD 24 on a 2-night cruise, SGD 36 on 3 nights, SGD 48 on 4 nights and SGD 60 on 5 nights. Premium for one device is SGD 36, 54, 72 and 90. Palace suite guests get a standard package included. This page has the full price list, how to connect step by step, and the things that catch people out at sea.

Quick answer: Connect to the ship's Wi-Fi network, open the Dream Cruises Concierge portal, log in with your cabin number and date of birth, pick a package and start the session. Buying on day one costs the same as buying on the last day, because packages cover the whole cruise. The Concierge portal itself — daily programme, menus, show times — is free to use without any package.

Genting Dream cruise Wi-Fi packages and charges (in SGD)

All packages below are full-cruise — buy once, use for the whole sailing. Prices are per package, not per person, and the device count is how many gadgets can be connected at the same time.

One-night sailings and 24-hour passes. On a 1-night cruise the full-cruise rate works out at about SGD 12 for Standard and SGD 18 for Premium on one device, and short 24-hour passes have previously been sold on board at around SGD 20 Standard and SGD 32 Premium for a single device. These are not printed in the 2026 cruise guide, so check the current price list on the Concierge portal when you board.

Standard or Premium — which do you actually need?

Our honest advice after booking this ship every week: most guests only need Standard. The extra SGD 12 for Premium on a 2-night cruise is worth it if you will be on video calls or uploading video, and it is money wasted if you mainly want to send messages and check email between the pool and dinner.

Buy one package for the family, not one each

The multi-device packages are where people overpay. Compare the two ways of connecting three phones on a 3-night cruise:

The saving grows on longer sailings and on Premium. The catch is that a multi-device package is shared — if all three are streaming, all three feel it. For a couple who both want their own connection on a 2-night cruise, the 2-device Standard package at SGD 42 is the usual pick.

Palace suites include a standard Wi-Fi package for the whole cruise, so suite guests should not buy anything until they have checked what their booking already covers. Full suite benefits are on our Palace page.

How to connect to Genting Dream cruise Wi-Fi

1. Turn off mobile data first. Do this before the ship sails, so your phone cannot jump onto maritime roaming. More on that below — it is the most expensive mistake on this list.
2. Open Wi-Fi settings and join the ship's network, listed as the Dream Cruises Wi-Fi network. It is available from the moment you board.
3. Open the Dream Cruises Concierge portal. It usually opens by itself; if not, scan the QR code posted in your cabin and around the ship, or type the portal address into your browser.
4. Log in with your cabin number and date of birth. No separate account or password is needed.
5. Choose your package — Standard or Premium, and the number of devices.
6. Confirm the package. The charge goes to your onboard account, not to a card at that moment.
7. Tap "Start Internet Session" and you are online.

Two things worth knowing. The charge is the same whether you buy on the first evening or the last morning, because the package covers the whole cruise — so there is no reason to wait. And you can upgrade mid-cruise: the difference in price is added to your onboard account.

What you can use for free, without buying Wi-Fi

This is the tip most guests wish they had known earlier. Once you are connected to the ship's network, the Dream Cruises Concierge portal is free to browse even without an internet package. It carries the daily programme, show times, restaurant hours and menus, shore excursion information, your onboard account balance and the Wi-Fi price list. You do not need to pay to plan your day.

What you cannot do without a package is anything that leaves the ship — messages, email, social media, calls.

Turn off data roaming, or your phone bill will be the real cost

Once the ship leaves Singapore waters, phones latch onto the maritime satellite network, which is charged at a completely different rate from normal roaming. Guests who leave data on return to bills far larger than any Wi-Fi package on this page.

• Before sailing: switch off mobile data and data roaming, or put the phone in aeroplane mode and turn Wi-Fi back on.
• In port: normal Malaysian or Thai roaming applies once you are ashore and on a land network — check your plan, or buy a local eSIM.
• Back in Singapore: turn data on only after you are alongside and your phone shows a Singapore network.
• Children's phones too. A teenager's phone left on roaming is the one that runs up the bill.

What the connection is actually like at sea

Genting Dream connects by satellite, and three things affect what you get:

• Where the ship is. Coverage is better near land and along busy shipping lanes than in open sea.
• How many people are online. Evenings after the show, and sea-day afternoons, are the slowest times. Early morning is the fastest.
• Where you are on the ship. Public areas and upper decks generally hold a better signal than a cabin low down and deep inside the ship.

The cruise line also states that VPN connections and some sites or types of browsing may be restricted, for security, bandwidth or content reasons. If you need a VPN for work, test it on the first evening rather than the morning of a deadline.

If the Wi-Fi will not connect

• The login page does not open: open a browser and type a plain http:// address, or scan the Concierge QR code. Secure https pages often will not trigger the portal.
• Login rejected: use the cabin number exactly as printed on your cruise card, and the date of birth of the guest the booking is under.
• "Device limit reached": your package covers a set number of devices at once. Log out on one device before connecting another, or upgrade the package.
• Connected but nothing loads: turn off the private or randomised Wi-Fi address setting on your phone, disable any VPN, then forget the network and rejoin.
• It worked yesterday and not today: sessions sometimes need restarting from the portal. Open the Concierge and tap Start Internet Session again.
• Still stuck: Reception on Deck 6 midship can see your package and reset the session.

Where Wi-Fi sits in your onboard budget

Wi-Fi is one of the smaller lines on a cruise bill, which is why we tell guests to buy the package they will actually use rather than economising into frustration. Seven tips from our booking desk

• Check for pre-cruise deals. The cruise guide says booking Wi-Fi and shore excursions before you sail, on the official website, unlocks better rates than buying on board.
• Buy on boarding day. The price does not drop later, and you will want the connection for photos on day one.
• One package, shared. Multi-device packages beat separate ones on price.
• Download before you board. Films, music, maps and boarding documents on the terminal Wi-Fi, not the ship's satellite.
• Use the free Concierge portal for the daily programme instead of asking someone to send it to you.
• Palace guests: check first. Your suite already includes a standard package.
• Tell people ashore you will be slow to reply. A message at 9pm on a sea day may not arrive until morning, and that is normal.
